“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.”
The verse just before this describes the earth as corrupt beyond measure. It's in that very darkness that grace appears in Scripture by name for the first time.
Noah "found" favor — he didn't manufacture it or earn it through good deeds. Grace always arrives as something discovered, never something achieved.
This is the first time the word grace appears in the Bible. Before any law, before any formal covenant, God was already showing undeserved favor.
Noah walked with God while the world around him drifted away. Grace doesn't isolate you from your culture, but it can set you walking in an entirely different direction.
God didn't give the instructions to build the ark until after declaring His favor over Noah. The call is always born from favor, never the other way around.
Act: Before breakfast, pray thanking God for one moment you received undeserved favor — and ask Him for eyes to recognize it again today.
