“Thus King Solomon excelled all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.”
Notice the order in the verse: riches then wisdom — but in Solomon's story, it was asking for wisdom that brought the riches along with it.
No other king on earth came close — when God grants something in abundance, He doesn't do it halfway.
This verse summarizes chapters of history — Solomon's life proves that God's blessing accumulates visibly over time, not in an instant.
Solomon's fame traveled to distant kingdoms — when God blesses someone faithful, that blessing becomes a testimony to outsiders.
Solomon's own story warns that riches and wisdom don't guarantee a faithful ending — the gift must be guarded with the same care it was received.
Act: Before making any decision today, stop and ask God in prayer for wisdom for that specific decision, just as Solomon asked.
