“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
Jesus is the vine and you are the branch — life flows from Him to you, never the other way around. Your part is to stay connected.
To abide is to stay close, not to perform. God looks at communion before He looks at activity.
No branch strains to produce grapes. Fruit is not assembled by effort; it is the natural overflow of staying attached.
Jesus does not say 'apart from me you can do less.' He says nothing. Surrender begins with believing Him.
The promise is not bare survival but 'much fruit.' An abiding life becomes quietly, unmistakably abundant.
Act: before breakfast and before any task, sit with John 15 for five unhurried minutes and ask Jesus to keep you on the vine today.
