PRAY THEN ACT
DAY 261Until He Comes · Sep 18, 2026

The One It Belongs To

“A ruin, ruin, ruin I will make it. This also shall not be, until he comes, the one to whom judgment belongs, and I will give it to him.”

EZEKIEL 21:27 · ESV

1.

RUIN, THREE TIMES OVER

The threefold repetition — 'a ruin, ruin, ruin' — shows the totality of the judgment; God leaves no doubt about the seriousness of what is coming.

2.

NOT FOREVER

'This also shall not be' comes with a deadline — 'until he comes' — meaning the ruin has an expiration date and an end already set.

3.

A PROMISE HIDDEN IN JUDGMENT

'The one to whom judgment belongs' points beyond Ezekiel's day to a rightful ruler still to come — messianic hope is born in the middle of the sentence.

4.

GOD WILL GIVE WHAT IS DUE

'And I will give it to him' guarantees the authority won't be seized by force — God himself will hand the throne to the one who truly has the right to it.

5.

THE PEAK OF THE JUDGMENT ORACLES

After whole chapters of accusation, this is the oracle that turns the key — judgment exists to make way for a righteous rule, not merely to destroy.

6.

ACT WAITING FOR THE RIGHT KING

Act: Write down one area of your life in ruin today and hand it over in prayer to 'the one to whom it belongs,' refusing to try fixing it on your own.
