Fixed Mind, Firm Peace

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

ISAIAH 26:3 · ESV

1.

A SONG OF FUTURE VICTORY

This verse sits inside a song Judah will sing when the strong city is raised up — the peace here isn't born from the absence of threat, but from certainty about who wins in the end.

2.

THE MIND AS STARTING POINT

'Mind is stayed on you' points first to where your thoughts land — peace doesn't start with circumstances, it starts with where you aim your mind.

3.

PERFECT, NOT PARTIAL

The Hebrew repeats the word 'peace' twice in a row — shalom shalom — as if to say: complete peace, doubled over, without cracks.

4.

TRUST IS THE ROOT

The verse ends by explaining why: 'because he trusts in you.' Peace isn't a mental technique, it's the natural fruit of trusting Someone trustworthy.

5.

WHEN THE MIND WANDERS

Most of us lose peace not from a lack of faith in God but because the mind slips loose and wanders toward fear — this verse calls you back to fix your gaze.

6.

FIX YOUR MIND NOW

Act: Identify the anxious thought that keeps returning today, and deliberately replace it with one truth about God, repeating it out loud three times.
