“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
The 'why' comes right after the call to give thanks — we don't thank Him from empty duty, but because He truly is good.
This verse repeats throughout the whole psalm — some truths need saying again and again until they settle into us.
God's steadfast love has no expiration date or cancellation clause — 'forever' means exactly what it says.
The rest of this psalm tells stories of people rescued from desert, prison, and storm — each one proof that His love truly endures.
'Give thanks' is an action verb, not a passive feeling — gratitude asks to be expressed, not just quietly felt.
Act: Repeat this verse out loud three times today, at different moments, until it starts to shape your day.
