“All the men and women, the people of Israel, whose heart moved them to bring anything for the work that the LORD had commanded by Moses to be done brought it as a freewill offering to the LORD.”
"Whose heart moved them" — the offering was born from within, not from outside pressure; giving followed willingness, not the other way around.
The text explicitly names both men and women — building the tabernacle belonged to the whole people, with no one left out.
"For all the work that the LORD had commanded" shows that every contribution, however small, had a place in a larger shared purpose.
Calling it a "freewill offering" sets it apart from any tax or tribute — what God received there was given freely, not extracted.
Just after this verse, Moses would have to ask the people to stop bringing more — their generosity ran past what was even needed.
Act: Before breakfast, offer something concrete — time, money, or help — to a work at your church without waiting to be asked.
